The Fairfax Volunteers has long been supplementing the Department of Pubic Works with upkeep and maintenance of various structures and facilities throughout town, including the Peri Park Playground.
An ongoing legacy of the Volunteers is the restoration of Fairfax's
historic bridges. Since some of these bridges will be needing maintenance
in the near future, we ask you to get involved and let us know how they look in your neighborhood.
Community
Center Spruce Up
The
Rainbow Kids, initiated by Rose Taber,
led the effort to spruce up the Community Center. They cleaned,
prepped, and painted the interior, cleared the debris from behind
the building, and purged the storage closets.
Unfortunately, the2005 flood caused much damage to the building, butthanks to the efforts of the town,
it is back in operation.
If you'd like to help preserve the beauty of
the unique structures in our town, contact us at fairfaxvolunteers@earthlink.net.
