The Second Annual Town-Wide Picnic was held on Sunday, September 16th, from noon to 5 pm at the Fairfax Ball Field.

This year's Picnic was a huge success and featured: a Beatles Tribute with The Lillypudlians, Potluck Dishes, Community Art with Artist in Residence Shoshana Parry, a Fairfax Trailmarkers station, a Dunk Tank, Van Painting Project, Games including a Balloon Toss, Sack Races, Pie Eating Contest and the Tug-o-War, PLUS Temporary Tattoos, Face Painting, Puppets, a Bouncy and more!

We hope that you got to meet new neighbors at this event and that you were encouraged to start working with neighbors you have met to make change - through block parties, opening community pathways, educating your friends about fire prevention and other good works that help make Fairfax neighborhoods even better close-knit communities!

The Fairfax Volunteers is a town-sponsored group whose mission is to foster good will in the Town of Fairfax through implementation of a Volunteer Program that will meet Town and community needs. The Fairfax Volunteers Program Advisory Board Members are: John Reed, Scott Valentino, Holly Dines, Michael Branton, Melanie Peratis, & Anya Schandler. The Advisory Board meets the fourth Monday of every month at 7:00pm at the Fairfax Community Center (check Town bulletin board for changes).
